DAY 2: Downtown Los Angeles

i sit here at a total loss of what to say because today passed by rather quickly. but i found today that Downtown Los Angeles is rather boring, because it's so vast, and today is memorial day, and so many shops and other attractions were closed. so. for today, we shall take it easy and look at just pictures. so that i can recap and give you a good idea of my day today. :)

Breakfast! at this awesome place called "House of Pies" which apparently had world famous pies. but we were having breakfast and my dad didnt think it's right to have pie in the morning. i think it's ok to have pie! but well. this is my breakfast. it's an omelet with CHEESE, MUSHROOMS, SAUSAGE and TOMATOES. i dont think it gets anything better than that!

beverly hills people! next stop after breakfast we drive up to Rodeo Drive and hit what they call the Golden Triangle, an upmarket shopping district in LA.

i have alot more photos taken of thie place, but i think you can see Versache, which is that building with the columns. :) the highlight of the trip to Rodeo Drive, by the way, was this:

welcome to the cheesecake Factory, AKA heaven. :) we decided that a tip wasnt worth the amount we would be paying for the cakes, which were really ex, but then again it's also coz we're singaporean and cheapo. :P we ordered the white chocolate latte cheesecake and the *drum roll please* Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake.

yes friends. GODIVA. i said GODIVA. :)

so we pigged out on cheesecake and i went on the ultimate sugar high. we decided to go to Griffith Park, which is suppsoed to be a really great local attraction, but the planetarium and observatory was closed, so we didnt get a chance to do anything productive there.

at 4 o clock we end up at MOCA, or the Museum of Contemporary Art. photos of the exhibits were restricted to the first 2 rooms of exhibits, but they're not worth much so i wont put it up. :P i did take some random shots because we were in the city area (finally!) which was empty because it's a holiday. did see another attraction though: the Walt Disney Music Hall.

i like photographing architecture, especially interesting architecture. this was the most interesting i could get in this city. there is this one place with a GIANT binocular, but didnt get a chance to head there.

this here was the next stop. China Town. can i just say it's some kinda extreme tourist attraction thingy that doesnt seem to attract anyone. it was quite dead. then we drove around, and we found THE REAL china town. and we decided to have dinner-lunch. we found a nice roasted meat restaurant, and pigged out. the potions are so big i almost died trying to finish my food. it was a gorgeous meal and i swear i would have finished her dinner too if not for the fadt i had my own.

Peking DUCK! :)

ok so we visited a coupla more places, then we decided to head to sunset boulevard. i now know why it's sunset boulevard! :D there is a setting sun as we go down the freeway. :)
rather nice huh? this was one of my moments.
anyway, i gotta go. :) LV tomoro! :D
